Monica Love currently serves as part of the research staff for the Department of Health & Exercise Science at Wake Forest. She is currently an interventionist on the TOPS/BEACON study.

Monica has worked on knee osteoarthritis clinical trials over the last 15 years centering around weight loss and exercise as methods to slow the progression of the disease, including roles as an exercise and weight loss interventionists for the IDEA, START, INVEST and WE-CAN clinical trials. She has also served as project manager over the last 11 years on the DoD-funded studies: TRAILS, TRAILS: Injury Recovery study, both of which examine potential risk factors for overuse injuries in runners, and the STARS clinical trial, which utilized strength training as a potential mechanism for decreasing the risk of females developing overuse injuries.
