Dr. Wrights received her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Messiah College, her Master’s Degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University, and her Doctorate of Education in Kinesiology through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her doctoral work focused on leveraging departmental teaching culture in order to promote innovative pedagogy. She is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. Professor Wrights teaches Health and Exercise Science 100: Lifestyles and Health. Additionally, she assists with the supervision of the HES Graduate Students in their teaching roles. Previously at Wake Forest, Dr. Wrights worked as a Research Interventionist with various studies including the Lifestyle Interventions and Independence for Elders (LIFE) Study funded through the National Institute on Aging.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Wrights serves as a lower-division advisor and serves on various departmental and university committees. Also, she is a faculty representative for both the Wake Forest Alcohol and Other Drug Coalition and the Mental Health Coalition.
