Bio

Dr. Rice is a Teacher-Scholar Postdoc in the Dept. of Health and Exercise Science. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in Exercise and Sports Science and Spanish. Dr. Rice went on to obtain a Master of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Research at Appalachian State University. Dr. Rice then pursued a Doctorate of Philosophy in Exercise Science from Edith Cowan University in Joondalup, Western Australia with some of her research taking place at Northern Arizona University. Her Postdoctoral work is currently with Drs. Stephen Messier and Jason Fanning in the HES Department at Wake Forest University.
Dr. Rice's research focuses on muscle power development for dancers through strength and conditioning techniques to enhance performance as well as muscle power development for older individuals through dance for healthy ageing.
