Welcome of the Department of Heath and Exercise Science website.  We hope it will provide you with a detailed view of our department and answer any questions you may have about our department.  With its motto of Preventing Chronic Disease and Disability, the department of Health and Exercise Science on the Reynolda campus of Wake Forest University exists to advance the understanding of health and the prevention/treatment of chronic disease and physical disability.  The department has a strong record as teacher and scholars, and individual faculty members have won teaching and research awards.

In the classroom, we are preparing future leaders in health care as our graduates compete for positions in professional and graduate programs in medicine, allied health and other health care programs. By virtue of our programs of research and rehabilitation, we also provide an important service to the community at our Clinical Research Center.  The department has a rich history of securing external research funding in support of its motto, and the faculty are regarded as experts in their respective fields. Former graduates from the department hold leadership positions in the field of health care and medicine.  The department holds fast to the Teacher Scholar ideals of the University and supports its motto of Pro Humanitate.
