Many Wake Forest University students travel to other countries to study abroad for a semester. The philosophy of the Department of HES is to encourage this experience. The HES curriculum has thus been designed to allow interested students to study abroad during their sophomore, junior or senior years. If you have plans to study abroad, you are encouraged to plan ahead and register for HES major courses during your sophomore year to ensure timely completion of your degree. Students should meet with Dr. Gary Miller (millergd@wfu.edu; 336-758-1901), the undergraduate coordinator for the department, as they consider studying abroad to plan out appropriate coursework. Courses in the health and exercise field may be taken for credit at other institutions during your study program. However, these courses require prior approval by the HES faculty and chair.
